Charlotte Tyrrell
Office & Clinic Manager
Charlotte joined the college in January 2002 as an administrators assistant and throughout the years has covered many roles here at the college. Charlotte became the office manager in March 2018 and also manages the colleges treatment clinics.
James Barclay
Librarian
James joined the college as Librarian in 2020. He worked as a physical therapist for 20 years before becoming a healthcare librarian in 2011.
Jo Brown
Registrar & VLE developer
Jo joined the college in February 2020 and works as our registrar and is currently developing our VLE resources and capability. She is a qualified podiatrist and enjoys nature and being creative.
Rhiannon Griffiths
Marketing & development
Rhiannon joined the admin team in 2023, to coordinate the marketing, CPD and aspects of development at the college. She is an acupuncturist, having graduated from CICM in 2009, currently still treating patients in clinics across Bucks, Oxon & Northants.
Robyn Heary
Coursework & exam coordinator
Robyn joined us in September 2022 and co-ordinates student coursework and exams.
Emma Hales
Programmes Administrator & CPD Manager
Emma joined us in October 2024 and is our programmes administrator which includes timetable support. Emma also became the CPD Manager in 2025.
Gabby Maslen
Weekday Receptionist
Gabby joined the team in November 2024 as a weekday receptionist. She also oversees the clinical observations. Gabby is a very bubbly smiley person and loves to learn everything she can about her favourite subjects. She has diplomas in Art, Event Management and Greek mythology.
Laura Long
Administrator
Laura joined us in September 2019 and worked as our receptionist and admin support. Having returned from Maternity Leave, Laura now works as our administrator.
Kelly Yeo
Student clinic coordinator
Kelly joined us in April 2025 and is our student clinic coordinator which includes booking in patients for all teaching clinics – Tuina and acupuncture treatments. Kelly is also an acupuncturist who graduated from CICM in 2008.

The teachers are really supportive and make every effort to tailor how they teach to suit the different styles of students. I like to question things and look at things from different angles - and the teachers have always supported me by being there to answer things by email after class, recommend further reading, or even being there to support me when I set up a Chinese medicine society for the college.

The course covers a huge range of topics, angles and perspectives, and whilst so much of it is new, unfamiliar and challenging at times- especially the 'hands on practical aspects- I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing, or anywhere else I’d rather be doing it. CICM is a hub of connection, commitment and energy, and something I am honoured to be part of.

All of my teachers are practicing therapists with a library of information and experience to reinforce their words and the lectures. I have gained a lot of insight into myself and I often find myself reflecting on what we learned in class and applying it to life. I am recommending the course to everyone I know!

As I was in my late forties I was concerned that I was too old, however the Open Day dispelled any doubts that I had as the age range of students and staff spanned from 18 to 80. The beautiful building was a joy to explore and I felt immersed in the world of Chinese Medicine. It was a cocoon of learning in the heart of Reading and only ten minutes’ walk from the train station.
