Using Tuning Forks to Enhance Clinical Practice

Date(s): 14 - 15 November 2026

Time: 10am - 5pm

Eligibility: Acupuncture graduates

Venue: College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading

David Hartmann first picked up a tuning fork that belonged to his Mum around about 20 years ago. She had just travelled to the USA (from Australia) for a tuning fork course and came home super excited to treat people. David was her first patient and he felt amazing after the first treatment.

At that time, David was primarily focusing on his acupuncture and Tui Na massage, so this sound healing modality took somewhat of a backseat in his clinic. But over the years though, tuning forks became an undeniable force - both David and his mother were getting awesome results. By 2016 David was consistently treating patients with tuning forks, acupuncture and massage in his clinic on a daily basis.

This workshop is designed to give you that passion, that excitement, and that feeling that David had when he first discovered this modality. Using tuning forks in this way can really enhance your clinical practice.

At the end of this workshop participants will:

  • Be more familiar with what tuning forks are, how they work, as well as what they can be used for.
  • Appreciate the range of different tuning forks that are commonly used in a natural medicine clinic.
  • Understand the differences between the various tuning forks, based on their frequency (Hz), their size (short or long) and the forks being weighted or unweighted.
  • Be confident in the correct striking of the different tuning forks.
  • Appreciate the subtle differences between the use of weighted tuning forks on the body versus unweighted tuning forks off the body.
  • Feel more confident in using the tuning forks on the acupuncture channels (including the eight extraordinary vessels) and acupuncture points.

Across the two days you will learn how to use weighted tuning forks on the body via the acupuncture channels and points, as well as the chakra system. You will also learn how to use unweighted forks out in the aura or Biofield via Mother/Father zones, the Ancestral River, and various constructs.

You will also learn how to treat the organ system both physically and meta-physically with the tuning forks.

Using tuning forks alongside your acupuncture, and within the acupuncture framework that you already use and know, will really enhance your clinical practice and benefit your patients, especially those who are sensitive, energetically depleted, or needle-phobic.
