Unique patient, unique practitioner

Date(s): 31 January 2024

Time: Wednesdays at 7:30pm - 9pm

Eligibility: Acupuncture graduates

Venue: This is an online course

Starting on Wednesday 31st January 2024, this is an eight session, online evening course for acupuncturists who have been in practice for a few years and who are comfortable in their work but who are looking for a coherent approach to the next stage of their professional development.

The course as a whole will challenge participants to make their work more focused, more creative and more highly attuned to the needs of each individual patient. It will also encourage the development of the practitioner’s talents and skills.  Matching the unique patient with the unique practitioner generates profound and powerful treatments.

Each session will last for one and a half hours and will contain an overview of the topic, exercises to make it come alive and discussion of patients and treatments. By the end of each session the participants will have new ideas and skills which they can use in the succeeding weeks. The content of each session will build on the one before so that by the end of the course the practitioner will be working with more ease, more clarity and more confidence.

The aims of this CPD series include:

  • To develop the practitioner's own natural gifts and talents in the service of patients.
  • To know how to create powerful treatments by matching the patient's needs and the practitioner's strengths.
  • To show how to craft a treatment which takes full account of the particular patient's unique challenges and difficulties at a specific time in his or her life.

Session topics covered:

1.  What works for you, and what doesn’t.

2.  Diagnosis refreshed.

3.  Listening and talking.

4.  The power of attention.

5.  Truth and healing.

6.  Creativity and point combinations.

7.  Learning from mistakes - and how to make fewer of them.

8.  What is your approach to practice?

And by the end of the 8 sessions, you will be able to:

+ Make better use of your natural skills and talents in the treatment room.

+ Refine and deepen your diagnosis of each patient's energy.
