Date(s): 13 January 2024
Time: 10am - 5pm
Eligibility: Acupuncture students and graduates
Venue: College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading
Facial Cupping has grown in popularity within the mainstream beauty world. More and more acupuncturists have begun incorporating it into their treatments as demand for natural, yet powerful facial treatments has reached new heights. Even though Facial Cupping may sound new, it’s actually rooted in ancient healing tradition, often featured within traditional Chinese medicine. Cupping was originally used on the body to alleviate pain and treat many health conditions. It’s even said to be the oldest healing method used to fight illness. Thousands of years later, it’s still being used. Why? Because it’s working. If it wasn’t, it would’ve long been forgotten. This practical course allows acupuncture practitioners to begin offering facial cupping to their clients. It will teach you how to perform a cosmetic facial cupping session on yourself first, then on a patient.
A pre requisite of the course is that you bring a facial cupping set with you. If you don't have a set, Sakina is offering attendees of this course £20 off! You can purchase your discounted set here.
All attendees are also required to bring their own:
* oil (any facial oil, prickly pear seed oil recommended)
* mirror (small vanity standing mirror)
* hand towel
In this course, you will learn:
* How facial cupping works
* Facial cupping techniques
* Conditions facial cupping can help with
* Facial cupping and traditional Chinese medicine
* How to stimulate the lymphatic system with facial cupping
* A step-by-step facial cupping cosmetic protocol
* How to take care of your facial cups
* Ways to incorporate facial cupping into your cosmetic acupuncture sessions
You'll be expected to work in pairs during the course.

Sakina graduated with a BSc Hons in acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading in 2011. She holds a diploma in cosmetic acupuncture and Swedish massage. She works as an acupuncturist in the UK and is the founder of “The Facial Cupping Expert”, an online platform offering CPD accredited facial cupping online courses and facial cupping products. She started using facial cupping in addition to needles to help alleviate neural pain in her patients and to stimulate muscle strength in paralysis cases such as Bell’s palsy. She now teaches facial cupping worldwide to acupuncturists and other beauty and bodywork practitioners.
