Treating skin conditions with acupuncture and TCM creams

Date(s): 31 March 2016

Time: 10am - 5pm

Eligibility: Acupuncture graduates & 3rd year students

Venue: College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading

A one-day course with Ken Lloyd

In 1993 Dr Liu from the skin department of Nanjing University Teaching hospital said ‘when treating skin conditions, half of the diagnosis is by observation and half of the treatment is externally applying creams’. On this teaching day you will be learning to treat all the common skin conditions seen in your UK clinics, based on Ken’s clinical studies from skin departments in Nanjing, Kunming, Hangzhou and Chengdu, China.  You will learn to diagnose via many clinic photographs.  You will also study how to select appropriate acupuncture point combinations and then select externally applied TCM skin creams to support it. The medicinal actions of the TCM skin creams will be explained using a unique system of assigning a herb to an acupuncture point thereby making the actions of each herb clear to the acupuncturist.
