Treating Allergies and Autoimmune Conditions

One in three people in the industrialised world have allergies and one in 12 have autoimmune diseases • More and more patients need help with these maladies, which are increasing at an alarming rate • How our changing environment can be the cause of wei qi disharmony (at the root of many of these diseases) and how re-harmonisation is the only intelligent approach to treatment • The most common conditions such as allergic rhinitis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Sjögren’s syndrome and SLE (lupus) • We will look at each disease in terms of its multiple syndromes, symptoms, depth of disease penetration based on the shan han lun format, treatment principles and acupuncture formula, and food/herb supplements that have direct anti-allergy/autoimmune effect

He received training in Pi Fu Ke (dermatology) in China, principally in Nanjing, but also in Kunming and Hangzhou. He has taught herbs at both CICM and Westminster University and has been a consultant for Mayway herbal suppliers since 1997. He is also a past president of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM).
