The art of needling with qi

Date(s): 29 March 2019

Time: 10am - 5pm

Eligibility: Acupuncturists and acupuncture students in their clinical year who meet the prerequisite listed below

Venue: College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading

For acupuncturists and qualified acupuncture students

First you’ll learn how to conduct your treatments so that you ensure that your own qi is “neutral” toward your patient and that you are neither sending out (giving away) your own qi nor drawing in theirs. Then we’ll explore how to use your qi sensitivity to precisely locate the energy of the point. You’ll also learn how to use your sensitivity to the qi in a point to help you more precisely and painlessly insert your needle into the center of the point and better manage the qi flow within it.

Prerequisite: The Art of Feeling Qi or permission of instructor based on equivalent experience and skill.

Bill Ryan has studied qi gong, tai chi, and related energy arts since 1980 with Daoist Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis. In 1992 Bill founded Brookline Tai Chi near Boston, USA which under his direction reached a peak enrollment of over 450 students. He now teaches qi gong and practises qi gong tui na bodywork.
