Scalp acupuncture therapy is a popular acupuncture method that has been used in clinics for more than 60 years • It has been used for a variety of conditions, such as brain-borne diseases, especially for treating strokes • It is based on a combination of traditional acupuncture and Western medicine knowledge of functional neuroanatomy • We will look at how stroke is understood in TCM and review stroke in Western medicine • You will learn how to carry out scalp acupuncture treating unconscious or semi-conscious patients, dysarthria, aphasia (motor, anomic, Wernicke’s), deviation of tongue and mouth, visual problems (hemianopia), hemiplegia and hemianesthesia


Dr Huian Liu has been practising for more than 30 years in hospitals and clinics. A fellow and member of ATCM (UK) and guest lecturer at ICOM, he has successfully treated thousands of patients in the UK and taught a variety of Chinese medicine topics.
