A one-day seminar on the ins and outs of group treatment clinics with Charlotte Stone, Calum Thomson and Nik Tilling at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.
Multi-bed acupuncture clinics challenge the established norms of private, highcost acupuncture provision, and offer an effective and exciting new way of bringing acupuncture to the wider community.
This seminar is intended for practitioners considering establishing a similar practice themselves. It details the experiences and perspectives of the founders of the Dragon Acupuncture Project in Brighton, Britain’s first independent multi-bed clinic.
Topics for the day
The issue of increasing acupuncture’s accessibility
Different models for multi-bed practice
The practicalities of setting up and managing a multi-bed clinic
Benefits, difficulties and issues arising for practitioners and patients working in this environment
Different styles of practice – what works in a multi-bed clinic
Who uses multi-bed clinics and why: the patient’s experience
The implications of multi-bed practice for the acupuncture profession
