Clinical study trip to Guangzhou, China Autumn 2008

Tony Booker led a successful three-week trip for practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine which included two weeks’ clinical experience in one of China’s most modern hospitals where participants had the opportunity to treat patients under the watchful eye of senior TCM doctors, and lectures from hospital staff.

Event description

bruce_frantzis.jpgThe fifth and final in a series of  Five Element qi gong workshops with Daoist Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis at the Town Hall, Blagrave Street, Reading.

In this seminar Bruce will draw on his practical knowledge of the Five Elements gained through his qi gong training in China and other Eastern countries.

The energy of the Earth Element works through the Stomach and Spleen.  Its balanced functioning helps us to process food and fluids.  It also ensures we have good circulation and healthy energy. The yi, which is the spirit of the Spleen, allows us have clear thoughts and intention.

An imbalanced Earth Element can cause us to feel tired, lethargic and heavy. We may also have poor digestion, weak or cold limbs or a tendency to worry unnecessarily. During this seminar Bruce will teach practical exercises to strengthen, develop and viscerally feel the energy of the Earth Element.

The seminar will include instruction in qi gong exercises, which can begin to help you to:
>  feel the energy of the Earth Element in your body
>  strengthen your Spleen and Stomach and your overall stamina
>  sink your qi in order to feel grounded and ‘earthed’
>  enhance and support your digestion and appetite
>  reduce excessive worry and over-thinking
>  strengthen the blood vessels and increase circulation
>  move qi to counteract the heaviness caused by Dampness
>  improve your mental focus and clarity.

Bruce Frantzis, a Lineage Master in the Daoist arts, has forty years experience in qi gong, healing practices, meditation and the martial arts. Fluent in both Chinese and Japanese he has drawn on seventeen years of intensive study in Asia to develop a systematic approach to teaching Daoist energy arts. Bruce now teaches in various parts of the US and Europe. He has written five books each stressing different aspects of Daoist Water Method practices. They are: Opening the Energy Gates of Your Body, The Power of Internal Martial Arts, Relaxing Into Your Being, The Great Stillness and The Big Book of Tai Chi: Build Health Fast in Slow Motion. In addition to his writing and teaching schedule, Bruce has served as consultant to Harvard University’s Chi Research Group.
