Event description

marek_urbanowicz.jpgLearn new ways to help your patients deal with food intolerances with Marek Urbanowicz at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.

Food intolerances are a common problem that are often overlooked by practitioners.   They can be simply and easily identified without needing expensive blood tests or having to be aware of the complete body of knowledge of applied kinesiology (AK).

Topics for the day
>  How to ascertain which foods or chemicals your patients are sensitive to,
>  What the level of the problem is
>  Whether it is an allergy, a masked allergy or a food that can be eaten on an occasional basis
>  Precisely which organ or system is being targeted, for example, the liver or the immune system
>  The causes of food intolerance, whether it be a histamine reaction, a gut or fungal problem or have an emotional basis
>  Simple strategies to help patients deal with their intolerances by using acupuncture points, desensitising remedies, and nutritional supplements
>  Accurate kinesiological muscle tests
>  How to problem solve if you run into difficulties

This one-day introductory course will be very hands on and give you techniques which can be easily implemented into your practice without detracting from your current style of treatment. Above all it will informative, eye opening and fun.

Marek Urbanowicz has been an acupuncturist since 1979.  He qualified at the College of Traditional Acupuncture and studied with J.R Worsley until 1987. He had previously trained in shiatsu, massage and reflexology.  He also studied TCM with Angela and John Hicks.
For the last ten years he has been studying Japanese acupuncture in the UK, Holland and the US, notably with Stephen Birch among others.
He came across applied kinesiology in 1980 and was immediately struck by its eclectic and comprehensive approach which encompassed nutrition, structural corrections, meridian and emotional treatments. He continues to study this ever expanding work and is currently a member of the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK UK) and is one of the few acupuncturists to be so. He has been teaching muscle testing since 1981 at various levels and at present is senior lecturer for Academy of Systematic Kinesiology (TASK).
He studied nutrition and dietary therapy in the 1980s, initially with Dr Stephen Davies and later with Dr L Plaskett and has a particular interest in food intolerances and their impact on the health of patients.
