Event description
A two-day seminar describing needling and energy balancing methods to treat the skin with Radha Thambirajah at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine.
Beauty comes from within, but it can also be enhanced by many artificial and invasive methods from outside. However, lasting beauty can only be a manifestation of good health and a tranquil mind.
Acupuncture can help both body and mind, and make it possible that, with a good diet, rest and exercise, this inner health and outer youthful appearance can be maintained long after the treatment ends.
This course covers the theory and practice of balancing energetic states of the body and mind in order to treat problems of skin, the connective tissue that adheres the skin firmly to the muscle, muscle sagging and postural problems relating to ageing – and how to correct them. Needling practice, patient demonstrations and techniques of face lifting, gua sha, moxibustion and plum blossom needling are highlights of the course. The aim is that each participant should be able to start practising these methods the day after attending.
Topics for the day
- Face lifting
- wrinkle treatment
- sagging skin
- treatment of cellulite
- treatment of depigmentation or hyperpigmentation of skin
- acne
- warts
- hyperhydrosis psoriasis
- alopecia and many more.
Both local needling techniques and energy balancing methods will be discussed.
Radha Thambirajah, graduated from Shanghai Medical College in 1970 where she specialised in acupuncture. After her internship in China she returned to Sri Lanka and established her practice. In 1980 she founded the Academy of Chinese Acupuncture, training doctors and health professionals from all over the world. In 1984 she moved to England, opening the Academy in Berlin with a branch in Barcelona. To date, the Academy has trained over 8,000 students worldwide. Radha practises in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. Her books, Energetics in Acupuncture (2005) and Cosmetic Acupuncture and Dermatological Diseases (2007) are also available in German. She has taught acupuncture in Europe for over 20 years and follows the Chinese style of teaching using hands-on methods and providing lots of practice. Courses are lively and interactive. She believes learning acupuncture should be fun and enjoyable and create confidence in the learner.
