Radha Thambirajah

Focus on how to alleviate conditions occuring in later life with Radha Thambirajah at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.

Introducing yin and yang, Blood and qi concept, imbalanced states, inter-relationship and acupuncture treatment for balancing. We will also look at the Five Phases of Life, early and late ageing.


Topics for the day

The nervous system poor memory and concentration, hand tremors, insomnia, polyneuropathy
Gastrointestinal issues food and milk intolerance, constipation/diarrhoea, diabetes mellitus, chronic recurrent gastritis
Cardiovascular conditions high blood pressure, high cholesterol, varicose veins
Musculoskeletal symptoms osteoporosis (pain, posture-related problems), joint pains and stiffness, atrophy of muscles, recurrent tendonitis, fibromyalgia
Ear, nose and throat tinnitus, deafness, blocked nose

 

Radha Thambirajah graduated from Shanghai Medical College in 1970 where she specialised in acupuncture. After her internship in China she returned to Sri Lanka and established her practice. In 1980 she founded the Academy of Chinese Acupuncture, training doctors and health professionals from all over the world. In 1984 she moved to England, opening the Academy in Berlin with a branch in Barcelona. To date, the Academy has trained over 8,000 students worldwide. Radha practises in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. Her books, Energetics in Acupuncture (2005) and Cosmetic Acupuncture and Dermatological Diseases (2007) are also available in German. She has taught acupuncture in Europe for over 20 years and follows the Chinese style of teaching using hands-on methods and providing lots of practice. Courses are lively and interactive. She believes learning acupuncture should be fun and enjoyable and create confidence in the learner.
