Event description

Understand how your patients’ eating habits are affecting them with Peter Torssell at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.

From the point of view of Chinese medicine and nutrition it is important to recognise how our patients’ eating habits are affecting them. Both Chinese and western diagnosis and observation of body constitution provide some key points which are very useful to know when treating, regulating or preventing health issues by means of food therapy The Chinese tradition has always emphasised the importance of food and eating habits on our health, on the Organs, qi and Blood. Peter feels this emphasis is all the more important in modern times – sometimes to the degree that if no changes are made, our treatments using acupuncture or herbs are not enough.

Peter Torssell is head of the Akupunkturakademin, Stockholm. Peter has had a private clinic outside Stockholm since 1988 treating patients using TCM acupuncture, food regulation and herbal medicine. He undertook further training in acupuncture in Nanjing, 1989, and in Chinese herbal medicine in Beijing 1992. He received his bachelor of Chinese medicine in 2005 in Nanchang (Jiangxi University of TCM). He has a special interest in Chinese food therapy and has published a book on the subject in Swedish. Peter is guest lecturer at Örebro University on Chinese food knowledge.
