The College organises clinical study visits to well established hospitals in China for practitioners of acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine. These trips provide graduates with a valuable opportunity to find out more about the way Chinese medicine is currently practised in its country of origin.

Learn how to read faces and diagnose from the myriad markings that reveal the body’s blueprint with Lillian Bridges at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.

This two-day seminar will focus on learning the meanings of the features, the colour of the skin and the markings on the face that reveal the inner workings of the body and mind. We will look at the inherent potential of jing and determine the amount and flow of qi from the signs on the face. We will discuss the facial and emotional maps and discuss the how the patterns that emerge from past trauma and blocked emotions contribute to disease. You will learn how to analyse the Five Element features to determine the strength, deficiencies and functioning of the different Organs. You will also learn how to diagnose from the markings and colouration of the face and will be taught about the psychological and emotional underlay of disease.

Lillian Bridges is considered to be the world’s leading authority on face reading and diagnosis and is credited with bringing this ancient knowledge back to the field of Chinese medicine. For over 20 years her wisdom, warmth and humour have captivated audiences around the world as she has taught both complimentary and allopathic health practitioners how to utilise facial diagnosis in their practices. A professor of classical Chinese medicine, Lillian learned her skills from a long line of master practitioners in her Chinese family. She received her degree in psychology from UCLA. Lillian is the founder of The Lotus Institute, Inc and trains students in her apprenticeship programme at universities and colleges. She is a featured speaker at conferences and symposiums internationally. Her book, Face Reading in Chinese Medicine was published in 2003 by Churchill Livingstone and has been translated into German and Italian. The second edition is due out in May 2012.
