Learn how to make your treatment of pain more effective and quicker using acupuncture and extraordinary therapies, 
with Radha Thambirajah at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.

Topics for the day

• The differentiation of the types of pain according to bi syndrome, and the different therapies and energetic approaches to be used in these situations
• Treating hot, cold, damp and wind type pains with electrical needle stimulation, hot needles, cupping and wind elimination technique and plum blossom needling.
• Backache and sciatica, hip and pelvic pain, knee, elbow and small joints of the hands and feet, neck and shoulder pain with neck-related headaches
• One point therapy for pain

This will be a practical session including hands-on work under supervision. Radha brings her 40 years of clinical experience into this course, sharing with participants her tips and observations to make acupuncture treatment for pain effective and quick.

 

Radha Thambirajah graduated from Shanghai Medical College in 1970 where she specialised in acupuncture. After her internship in China she returned to Sri Lanka and established her practice. In 1980 she founded the Academy of Chinese Acupuncture, training doctors and health professionals from all over the world. In 1984 she moved to England, opening the Academy in Berlin with a branch in Barcelona. To date, the Academy has trained over 8,000 students worldwide. Radha practises in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. Her books, Energetics in Acupuncture (2005) and Cosmetic Acupuncture and Dermatological Diseases (2007) are also available in German. She has taught acupuncture in Europe for over 20 years and follows the Chinese style of teaching using hands-on methods and providing lots of practice. Courses are lively and interactive. She believes learning acupuncture should be fun and enjoyable and create confidence in the learner.
