The College organises clinical study visits to well established hospitals in China for practitioners of acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine. These trips provide graduates with a valuable opportunity to find out more about the way Chinese medicine is currently practised in its country of origin.
A close look at some obstetric red flags with Sarah Budd at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.
A one-day seminar looking in more detail at obstetric acupuncture, including red flags such as hyperemesis and malpresentations. We will spend some time on induction of labour, from the TCM and western perspective. Many practitioners have questions about this difficult issue. We will also cover complications in labour, and there will be some practical work on promoting acupressure for couples to use in labour.
If you would like to cover treatment of any particular antenatal conditions, please email Sarah your request in adavnce of the day: sarahbudd@onetel.com
Sarah Budd was given the first and only full-time post as acupuncturist midwife in the NHS in the UK. She lives on Dartmoor, and works one day a week in the NHS maternity unit in Plymouth with two colleagues, Sharon Yelland and Khim Ang. Together they have treated more than 8,000 pregnant women. Sarah also has a private, general acupuncture clinic in her home, and a strong interest in obstetric acupuncture research.
