Event description
Gain greater confidence in evaluating the different tongue signs with Barbara Kirschbaum at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.
The basic principles of tongue diagnosis will be discussed using up to 300 pictures of tongues. Tongue colour and shape will be of great importance during this session as both help to determine the patient’s constitution and disease pattern according to the Eight Principles. This will be followed by a discussion of common clinical tongue signs in relation to the five zang.
In addition there will be a discussion of tongue signs that indicate Hot diseases.
Anybody with a basic knowledge of TCM is eligible. There will be an introduction to the basics of tongue diagnosis. Barbara will also be presenting new material which may be of interest to students who attended this event in May 2009.
